about
“The Cold & The Beautiful” is the the debut song from The Tradition as a full band. A northern rock group from upstate New York. The Tradition is working on their first official EP titled “Thunder Mountain”. The project will also feature some acoustic songs and spotlight various local musicians. After mainly performing as an acoustic duo for the past 5 years, The Tradition headed into DMS Studio’s in Clarksville N.Y. The work began on 10/1/22 with the multi talented Arthur Scott Verner. Verner, a seasoned producer and engineer, guided the band to breathe fire into this unfinished song when they entered the studio. Verner is also a brilliant musician himself, best known for his bands Queer For Astroboy and Grey Sky Sunday. Renna started in 1993 playing bass In Politics of Contraband, vocalist in Last Call and Black John Wayne. Renna then moved on to guitar and vocals with Let Go Daylight, whose first record “Traditions Carved By Wounded Hands” was produced by Verner at DMS Studio’s in 2014
For this new track Renna laid down rhythm guitar, bass and vocals with Verner on backing vocals. Arya Chowdhury of Radio Junkies and former Mixed Roots Reggae joined in on lead guitar. Anthony Delano known for his work with The Vodkasonics, Nickel Social and The Explosives on drums. Renna and Delano also had a short stint together in the band As Above So Below.
The Tradition “Thunder Mountain” will be released on all platforms in April of 2023.
lyrics
Maybe if I - play my cards right
Only win it , If I gun em down
Voodoo magic, restless streets
Beg forgiveness-sinful thief
Credit denied- the book is wrong
Maybe someday-you’ll sing along
The colors of the flag remain the same
love we used to brag has now since changed
Anywhere America is where I pray
Everywhere America is where I lay
Tomorrow morning - I may be gone
Cup runneth over -still the same
south end hustle -River shuffle-
cops and crooks -side by side
Making-bones - breaking bread
Grab the gold -before your dead
The colors of the flag remain the same
love we used to brag has now since changed
Anywhere America is where I pray
Everywhere America is where I lay
Maybe if I - play my cards right
Only win it , If I gun em down
Voodoo magic, restless streets
Beg forgiveness-sinful thief
Credit denied the book is wrong
Maybe someday-you’ll sing along
The colors of the flag remain the same
love we used to brag has now since changed
Anywhere America is where I pray
Everywhere America is where I lay
